MARY JESSIE GILLIS [2]. Canadian, Jig. Canada, Cape Breton. B Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Composed by the late Inverness, Cape Breton, fiddler and composer Jerry Holland (1955-2009) in honor of his accompanist for some years, piano player Mary Jessie Gillis, also from Inverness. Gillis is a master of Cape Breton style piano (who studied with Maybell Chisolm MacQueen), and is in demand for workshops and summer music weeks throughout North America.
