Back to Miss Plaudy's
MISS PLAUDY'S. AKA and see “General Drummond,” “McGuffim’s.” Scottish, Reel. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. This tune, of Scottish character, appears as "Miss Plaudy's" in William Bradbury Ryan's Ryan's Mammoth Collection, printed in 1883 by the Elias Howe firm of Boston, Massachusetts. Under the title "General Drummond" it was printed in James S. Kerr's Merry Melodies, vol. 4, printed probably in the 1880's. Paul Wells suggests it might be a variant of “Lord McDonald’s Reel” on the strength of some shared melodic phrases and similar harmonic structure.
