MRS. JOHN ANDERSON'S FAVOURITE. Scottish, Jig (6/8 time). E Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Composed by Biography:William Shepherd (c. 1750-1812), perhaps for the wife of Biography:John Anderson (1737?-1808)) a contemporary Edinburgh composer and musician who in published a collection in 1790. There may actually have been two 'John Andersons' who published collections at the end of the 18th century and beginning of the 19th in the city.
