FÁILTE NA MIOSG. AKA and see "The Musket Salute." Scottish, Air (3/4 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. The air was published by James Oswald in a 1742 collection called Curious Collection of Scots Tunes (a volume dedicated to the Duke of Perth), and again in his Caledonian Pocket Companion, vol. 1 (1760, p. 22). The same melody also appears in Johnson's Scots Musical Museum (vol. 3, 1790, No. 259, p. 268) as the indicated tune for the song "My Heart's in the Highlands," with words reworked by Robert Burns from an older lyric.
