Back to Miss Brady
MISS BRADY (Ingean Ui Bradi). AKA and see "Considine's Grove{s},” “Cronin of Kerry,” “Dinny Ryan's,” “Game of Love (The),” “Girls of Farranfore (The),” “Gneevguilla Reel (The),” “Kerryman's Daughter (2) (The),” “Paddy Cronin’s (8),” “Pride of Rathmore (The)," “Rabbit’s Burrow.” Irish, Reel. E Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The first part is shared with “Bunch of Currents (2),” while the second part of the tune is similar to the second part of Kennedy’s “Miss Bourke’s.” “Game of Love (The)” tunes are related. O'Neill (Krassen), 1976; p. 118. The melody has just started to gain some currency in Scottish music, via Alasdair Fraser’s recording of it on “Portrait of a Scottish Fiddler.” The Donegal band Altan has recorded a version, as has the band Solas (under the title “Esther’s Reel”).
