NEVER WED AN OLD MAN. Irish, Air (3/4 time). Ireland, County Limerick. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. A wide-spread folk-song in Britain, Ireland and North America [Roud 210] [Ballad Index K207], the various lyrics set to different airs. See also versions of the song as "Oh what shall I do with this silly old man," "Young wife and her old husband (1) (The)," and "Old man courted me (An)." The tune is identified as having been collected in County Limerick in Stanford/Petrie.
