The melody appears to be unique to Glasgow publisher James Aird's Selection of Scotch, English, Irish and Foreign Airs, vol. 3 (1788). The alternate title, "Mary's Dream," usually refers to a very popular major-mode air from the same period, for which see "Mary's Dream (1)." That tune was also printed by Aird in his Selection, vol. 5.
