NORWAY SCHOTTISCHE. American, Schottische. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB'. The title appears in a repertoire list of Maine fiddler Mellie Dunham. The elderly Dunham was Henry Ford's champion fiddler in the late 1920's, and received quite a bit of press because of the association; it helped that Dunham looked every inch the stereotypical old-time fiddler. The melody was composed by Dunham (b. 1853), who lived his life in Norway, Maine; hence the title.
