The title for the air is from Thomas Moore's (1779-1852) Irish Melodies, although, as Paul de Grae points out, the melody is better-known nowadays as "Kildroughalt Fair." Variants are "Lough Sheeling," "Old Truicha," "Thy Fair Bosom," finds de Grae, along with Bunting's "Bridget O'Neill," published by him in 1809.
