MISS CARMICHAEL'S MINUET. Scottish, Minuet (3/4 time). E Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Johnson states that this minuet, printed in the Gillespie Manuscript of Perth (1768), was evidently fashioned from an older, slower traditional Scots piece called "Galway's Lament" which can be found in the Sinkler Manuscript (1710) and the McFarlane Manuscript (vol. 2, 1740).
