OLD SLEDGE [3]. Old-Time, Breakdown. USA, West Virginia. D Major. AEad tuning (fiddle). ABA'BA'B (Wine in Krassen). This variant more closely resembles "Old Sledge (2)." Kerry Blech remembers that source Melvin Wine would usually play this tune in the early 1970's for the fiddle contest at Glenville.
Source for notated version: Melvin Wine (Braxton County, West Virginia, who learned his version from his father and Webster County, W.Va., fiddler Jack McIlwaine) [Krassen].
