YEIL YEIL. AKA – “Yeal Yeil,” “Yell Yell” Scottish, Reel or Strathspey. E Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABCDEEFF (Gow). The variant words of the title, yeil, yill, yell, yeal, yuill, etc. are forms and usages of 'ale' (i.e. beer), accoording to Dictionary of the Scots Language [1]. The strathspey first appeared in print in Robert Bremner's 1757 collection, according to John Glen (1891).
