NANCY HANKS. American, Polka. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Nancy Hanks and Thomas Lincoln were Abraham Lincoln's parents, although it is unknown whether the tune title was associated with the fact or not. The tune is credited to J.L. Blatchley, of Port Crane, N.Y., by compiler and editor A.F. Hopkins in his American Veteran Fifer (1902).
