BUSH IN BLOSSOM, THE. AKA and see "Bush in Bloom (The)." Scottish, Reel. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. The first part of this tune corresponds to the Irish reel "Morning Star." The tune is identical to Francis O'Neill's "Bush in Bloom (The)", from the playing of Chicago fiddler John McFadden. It was known at approximately the same time in independent Irish sources by the 'bloom' title, and must have been well-established in Ireland at least by the turn of the 20th century. Provenance could be assigned to either country.
