WEST CLARE REEL, THE. AKA and see “Dan Breen's Reel” “Kevin Burke's,” “Shepherd's Daughter (1) (The),” "Up to Your Knees in Sand." Irish, Reel. G Major ('A' part) & E Minor ('B' part). Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. According to a personal communication from fiddler Patrick Ourceau, it was Clare fiddler Junior Crehan who adapted “Tear the Calico,” transforming it into the “West Clare Reel.”
