The tune appears under the "Naval Pillar" title in Dublin publisher Maurice Hime's Hime's Collection of Favourite Country Dances for the Present Year (1795, No. 11). It is related to "Nelson's Pillar" and "Miss Smyth's Reel," and, since Admiral Horatio Nelson died in 1805 (and is unlikely to have had a monument before his death), "Naval Pillar" would be the older version.
