Back to Leitrim Town
LEITRIM TOWN. AKA and see "Back of the Haggard (3)," "Colman's Lantern," "Fisherman's Jig," "Larry Redican's Slip Jig (3)," "Redican's Mother," "Whinny Hills of Leitrim (1) (The)." Irish, Slip Jig. B Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Recorded in New York under this title by County Leitrim flute player John McKenna [1] (1880-1947), who recorded many tunes with Leitrim place-names. McKenna is considered the foremost Irish traditional flute player of the 78 RPM era. This tune was paired with the double-jig "Clancy's Dream."
