MAID'S COMPLAINT [1], THE. Irish, Slip Jig. F Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB (Cole, Ryan): AA'BB' (Kennedy). The tune is a copy of an untitled jig in James Mason's Hamilton's Universal Tune Book, vol. 2 (Glasgow, 1844-46, p. 1). It is a member of the "Top it Off/Tip it Off" family of slip jigs.
