Source for notated version: “From Skull, Co. Of Cork. P MacDowell, Esq” [Petrie]. Belfast sculptor Patrick MacDowell [1] (1799–1870) was an Irish song enthusiast with a vast repertory, and supplied a number of Irish song airs to collector George Petrie [2] (1790–1866).
