Back to Leanbh Mo Chroí
LEANBH MO CHROÍ (Lannamacree). AKA and see "Jackson's Babby," "Jackson's Babes," "Lanamacree," "Rake's March," "Rose in Full Bloom (The)." Irish, Double Jig. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Leanbh mo chroí means 'child of my heart'. O'Farrell printed the tune as "Rake's March" in his first volume of Pocket Companion for the the Union Pipes (c. 1805).
Source for notated version: fiddler and uilleann piper Stephen Grier (Farnaght, Co. Leitrim), who wrote his manuscripts in the 1880's [Breathnach].
