JOHN McALPIN(E). Scottish, Strathspey. A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB (Stewart-Robertson): AABB (Kerr). The song "The Rattlin' Bog" (Heigh ho, the rattlin' bog) is sung to this tune. In Ireland the air is used as a march, a song air and a Sliabh Luachra polka.
