OONAGH. AKA - "Onagh." Irish, Air (6/8 time). D Major (Clinton): G Major (Mulhollan). Standard tuning (fiddle). AB (Clinton): AAB (Mulhollan). The tune used by Thomas Moore for his song "While gazing on the moon's light." It is not to be confused with "Una," begs collector P.W. Joyce (1873), a different tune whose title has the same pronunciation. Oonagh, or Oona, Una, is a feminine name. The melody also appears in G.E. Blake's Gentlemen's Amusement No. 3 (p. 17), printed in Philadelphia in 1825.
