A showpiece tune for West Virginia fiddler Clark Kessinger (1896-1975). No apparent relation to "Red Bird (1)." According to Gus Meade (Folkways FA 2336), "This hornpipe is very similar to Uncle Jimmy Thompson's 'Billy Wilson', recorded in October, 1926 (Columbia CO 15118-D)."
