The tune was characterized in CBC Programs in the mid-1940's as "an Irish Reel" in radio performances by Don Messer and his Islanders and by Jimmy Growling and his orchestra. It was recorded as "Reilly's Own" as the last tune of a set of reels recorded in 1924 by fiddler J.B.
