Back to Devil's Dream (Old)
DEVIL'S DREAM (Old). English, Jig. G Dorian. AABB. Standard tuning (fiddle). The melody first appeared in the 2nd edition of John Playford's Dancing Master (London, 1652) and was retained in the long-running series through the 18th and last volume, published in London by John Young in 1728. It also appears in Walsh's Compleat Country Dancing Master (London, editions of 1718, 1731 & 1754).
