OPERA HORNPIPE, THE. English, Hornpipe. England, Shropshire. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune entered into John Moore's c. 1837 music copybook is identical to that published in Edinburgh by George Forrester in his Flute Player's Pocket Companion (c. 1817).
Source for notated version: a c. 1837–1840 MS by Shropshire musician John Moore [Ashman].
