Back to Looking Glass (2) (The)


LOOKING GLASS [2], THE. English, Country Dance Tune (cut time). F Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. From William Randall's 1771 collection of country dance tunes. Randall is advertised as "Successor to the late Mr. Walsh, in Catharine Street in the Strand." Walsh was one of the leading music publishers of his day. "Looking Glass (1)", a different tune, is given as the alternate title for "Ladies Breast Knot (The)" in William Vickers' 1770 music manuscript collection.
