QUEER'S SPECIAL. American, Reel. USA, southwestern Pa. D Major ('A' part) & G Major ('B' part). Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. The tune was allegedly the composition of the source, though Bayard points out the 'A' part is a melodic formula common to several tunes in Pennsylvania, while the 'B' part is reminiscent of the well known "Flop Eared Mule (1)."

Source for notated version: Harry Queer (fiddler from Westmoreland County, Pa., 1957) [Bayard].

Printed sources: Bayard (Dance to the Fiddle), 1981; No. 372, p. 362.
