FIRST OF JUNE, THE (An Cead La Mi Meadon Samraid). Irish, Hornpipe. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The date is that of an important British naval victory during the Napoleonic Wars. The Irish hornpipe may or may not be associated with a British victory, however, there were many Irishmen in the British navy at the time.
