Sir Charles's guests, Colonel John Forbes, C.B., Mr. Sept. Carlisle, Captain Montagu Battye (Lady Forbes's brother) and Mr. Charles Leith Hay, Royal Aberdeenshire Highlanders, were presented to her Majesty by Sir Charles." The Queen and family did not stay, however, and returned to their Scottish residence, Balmoral, that day. | ||
