ROCKY ROAD TO JERICHO. American, Reel (cut time). A Major. AEac# tuning (fiddle). AABBCC. The tune is from the repertoire of Texas fiddler Clifford Murray, who was recorded in 1935 by John Lomax playing the tune. The Library of Congress catalogue card notes that it was "sung by a group of cowboys" (there are no vocals on this piece) in Throckmorton, west of Dallas, north-central Texas, and that Murray was accompanied by Mrs. Bob Criswell on guitar.
