Péribonka is a the name of a town and a river in the province of Québec, well north of Québec City. The town is situated at the mouth of the Peribonka River where it forms a bay on the north shore of Lac Saint-Jean. According to Wikipedia, the name 'Peribonka' comes from the Innu word ''periwanga'' (or possibly from ''pelipaukau''), meaning "river digging in/removing the sand."
