"Fever in the South" is Vee Latty's reworking of "Sally Ann (1)." Walden called Latty "one of the Ancients", meaning a fiddler who taught the fiddlers that Walden himself learned from, and Walden himself had this tune from a home recording of Vee obtained from Latty's son, Wayne.
