Tune properties and standard notation
FIG FOR A KISS [1], A (Ni Mait Liom Pog!). AKA and see "Cailin Lasa Sal Roc," "The Dublin Boys," "Dublin Streets," "Gaire na mBan," "Gliogar an Mheadair," "The Gurgling of the Churn," "The Humours of Bottle Hill," "Milk the Churn," "The Night of the Fun [2]," "The Old Dutch Churn," "She is fit for a kiss," "Splashing of the Churn [2]," "Two in a Gig." Irish, Slip (or Hop) Jig. E Minor/Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB (Barnes, S. Johnson, Roche, O'Neill/1001, Tubridy): AABB (O'Neill/Krassen). The melody was printed in the Petrie Collection of Ancient Irish Music of Ireland (Dublin, 1855) under the title "Glugur an Mheadair," translated as "Gurgling/Splashing of the Churn." The "Fig for a Kiss" title was first used in print by O'Neill. Related Cape Breton versions can be found under the title "The Old Dutch Churn." "Dublin Streets" and "Night of the Fun" are also related tunes.
