MRS. GUNN'S STRATHSPEY. Scottish, Strathspey (whole time). E Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Fr. John Quinn finds a cognate version in the c. 1880's music manuscript (Book 2, No. 36) of Gortletteragh, Co. Leitrim, uilleann piper and fiddler biography:Stephen Grier (c. 1824-1894) under the title "Miss Gunnon." Fr. Quinn also finds derivatives of the first strain in "Gatehouse Maid (2) (The)," "Gossan that Beat His Father (The)" (Gasúr a thug leadradh dá athair (An), and "<incipit title="load:hickey" width=850 link="https://tunearch.org/wiki/Hickey's (2)">Hickey's (2)</incipit>" AKA "McCann's Reel."
