"Twin Sisters" is a floating title which appears with a variety of tunes. The melody is a variant of the hornpipe "Boys of Bluehill (The)" and, according to Tom Carter and Blanton Owen (1976), is peculiar to the Franklin/Floyd County area of southwestern Va.. However, several West Virginia versions are current (e.g. in the repertoire of Melvin Wine).
