GREEN RIVER WALTZ. Old-Time, Waltz. The title appears in a list of traditional Ozark Mountain fiddle tunes compiled by musicologist/folklorist Vance Randolph, published in 1954. The tune was composed and recorded by fiddler Clifford Gross, a member of Texas based Light Crust Doughboys in the late 1930's (who replaced fiddler Bob Wills).
