HUMOURS OF GLENDART (Sugra Gleanndarta). AKA and see "Cashel Jig (The)," "Custom House (The)," "Darby Gallagher's (1)," "East at Glendart," "Finley's Jig," "Housemaid (1) (The)," "Julia Clifford's," "Saddle the Pony (6)," "Shins around the Fireside (2)," "Tim the Piper." Irish, Double Jig. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB (Martin & Hughes): AABB (most versions). Glandart is near the compiler Captain Francis O'Neill's birthplace of Tralibane, west Cork, and it would seem that the 'Glendart' titles are sourced to O'Neill. "Saddle the Pony (6)" is an older title (found, for example, in the R.M. Levey's Dance Music of Ireland and the Stephen Grier manuscript of County Leitrim, 1883), although, curiously, "Humors of Glendart" is often paired with a different "Saddle the Pony" tune in a set in session play (albeit more frequently paired with "Bryan O'Lynn (1)"). "Housemaid (1) (The)", collected in the mid-19th century by County Cork lawyer John Edward Pigot (1822-1871) from Miss Griffin of Foynes (on the Shannon in Limerick), and "Custom House (The)" from Ryan's Mammoth Collection (1883), are both older titles for the tune.
