There are a couple of candidates for the person of Taylor's title. First, there is Anne Biddulph (1772-1841), who married David Gordon, 14th of Abergeldie, in 1789. David, twenty years older than Anne, died in 1831 at age 78. He was succeeded by his son, Michael Frances Gordon (1792-1860), 15th of Abergeldie, who married Caroline Swete in 1820. There is no date for the death of Caroline, but assuming she was alive at the time Taylor published his volume in 1835, then there were at least two Mrs. Gordon of Abergeldie's--Anne Biddulph and Caroline Swete. | |||
