Composed by Cape Breton musician Vincent MacLellan, who was, according to Paul Cranford, "a carpenter, fiddler and amateur fiddle maker originally from the Margarees. Angus Allan Gillis was his first cousin. Vincent lived much of his life in the Mira area."
