Biographical notes

There are at least two anonymous publications attributed to a Miss Newberry. One is by "A Young Lady" and is entitled A Collection of Country Dances and Waltzes (c. 1797), and the other called Canzonets, "by A Lady", printed in London around 1795. Both are arranged for piano, with the latter publicaton having a vocal part. The attribution to Miss Newberry in the former publication can be found in the Royal Academy of Music Library copy, and the attribution for the latter in the British Union Catalogue.
