TOM KEANE'S REEL (Ríl Thomáis Uí Chéin). AKA – “Tom Kane’s.” Irish, Reel. A Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'B. The tune is named after Dublin fiddler John Kelly Sr.’s uncle. See also the cognate first strains of “Monaghan Twig (1)” and “Tinker’s Apron (2) (The)." Philippe Varlet says Breathnach should have transcribed the tune in two sharps (A Mixolydian).
