RIMOUSKI (LE). AKA and see "Madame Renaud," "Reel de prosper." French-Canadian, Reel (cut time). F Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Researcher Jean Duval finds Boucher's "Le Rimouski" to be a variant of the Scottish reel "Bob of Fettercairn (The)." He also finds versions recorded by Joseph Allard under the title "Reel de Mme Renault" ("Madam Renaud") (1928), and by Isidore Soucy as "Reel de prosper" (1936). Fiddler Fortunat Malouin's "Reel de Rimouski" is an entirely different melody (although this tune is sometimes called "Le Rimouski" as well).
