John Quinn suggests comparing this untitled strathspey with the related "College Grove (The)" and "Miss Corbett's Reel." According to Paul Cranford, "College Grove" was a favorite of Northside (Cape Breton) fiddler Bobby Stubbert, indicating the melodic material may have been in circulation on the island.
