MRS. McDOWELL'S REEL. AKA - "Mrs. MacDougal Grant." Scottish, Irish; Strathspey, Reel or Country Dance (whole or cut time). F Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. An early version of the tune is contained in a small volume called Tracy's selection of the present favorite country dances, published in Dublin in the 1790's. Tracy was evidently a dancing master who practiced in the city.

The first strain is substantially the same as the first strain of "Trip to Inchcomb (A)" as well as "Mrs. MacDowal Grant."
