ASHUELOT HORNPIPE. American, Hornpipe. D Major. Standard tuning. AABB. Composed by Ralph Page (1903-1985, New Hampshire), the "dean of the contra dance callers," and a seminal figure in New England traditional dance and music for 40 years (see www.izaak.unh.edu/nhltmd/pagehome.htm). It appears in Page's periodical Northern Junket, vol. 7, No. 10, 1963. Ashuelot is a town in south western New Hampshire.
