CAIN O HARA. Irish, Air (3/4 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). One part. Kane O'Hara (1712-1782) was a noted dramatist, musician, and author of many comic operas, including the burlettas Midas (1761) and Tom Thumb, altered from Fielding. The following quotation in Bartlett, attributed to O'Hara, is from Midas (Act i, Sc. 4):
Pray, Goody, please to moderate the rancour of your tongue!
Why flash those sparks of fury from your eyes?
Remember, when the judgment 's weak the prejudice is strong.
