BELLMAN'S JIG. Swedish, Air or Jig. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. This 6/8 air is the composition of Swedish composer Karl Michel Bellman [1] (1740-1795), a noted writer of tunes and songs, whose patron was King Gustav III. Since its appearance in Ralph Sweet's Fifer's Delight it has gained some currency as a jig for contra or English country dancing in New England.
