Tune properties and standard notation
CAMERON'S GATHERING. See "Black Donald's March to the Isles." David Murray, in his book Music of the Scottish Regiments (Edinburgh, 1994), notes that several tunes have had the title "The Cameron's Gathering," one of them called "Chlanna nan con, thigibh a seo 's gheibh sibh feòil" (Sons of dogs, come here and get meat), which is the slogan or war cry of Clan Cameron.
