CALUM CRUBACH (Lame Malcolm). AKA and see "Devil in the Kitchen [1]," "Devil Shake the Half-Breed [2]," "Gille Crùbach," "Gurren's Castle," "Miss Drummond of Perth [1]," "Miss Sarah Drummond of Perth [1]," "Mountain Reel [4]," "Our Highland Cousins," "The Prince of Wales Jig," "The Titanic Highland," "Yorkshire Bite [1]." Scottish, Strathspey. A Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). The tune is traditionally played on Cape Breton in a set with "The Black Mill." Gaelic words set to the tune begin:

Calum crubach as a' ghleann
till a null na caoraich thugam
Calum crubach as a' ghleann
till a null na caoraich

They pleadingly decry the introduction of the Lowland shepherd and Cheviot sheep to the Highlands of Scotland, an event that led to the infamous clearances.
